County Commission Approves Business Items

During a meeting of the Lawrence County Board of Commissioners Tuesday, members approved a $45 thousand contribution to West Gaines School Community Center; an amount that had previously been set aside for work on the building.  They have since voted to transfer ownership from the county to the non-profit group.  Also approved was a $17 thousand contribution to the City of Lawrenceburg for the construction of a pavilion at Veterans Park, as well as an interlocal agreement with Lawrenceburg regarding annexation of a parcel of property adjacent to International Drive, into the city limits.  Action was deferred on increasing litigation taxes for General Session Court, and a vote on the holiday list for county employees for 2025 failed.  The remaining agenda items were approved.
