Andrea Renee Word Thornton

Andrea Renee Word Thornton, born on June 15, 1958, passed away surrounded by family and loved

ones on November 29th 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Joe and Henrietta Word;

her husband, Roger Dale Thornton; and her beloved daughter, Tiffany Thornton.

Renee’s spirit lives on through her daughter, Jennifer Thornton (Casey Edwards); her brother, Barry

Word (Paula); her sister, Lisa Oliver (Mickey); and her grandchildren: Landon Thornton (Marye Kaine),

Cayden White (Alex), Layton Smith (Zac), and Sabrie Perkins (Ky). Renee was also a proud great-

grandmother to Gracen Thornton, Swayde Thornton, Drake White, Daxton White, Baby White, and

Rylan Hillis. She also leaves behind her cherished nephews, Nic (Hailey) Oliver and Brody Word. Great

nephews Harrison and Nolan Oliver. Brother-in-law Jerry Mitchell (Dawn).

Renee’s life was marked by her generosity, her love for her family, and her joy in life’s simple pleasures.

She found happiness in a clean home, and you could often find her with a vacuum or a leaf blower in

hand, taking pride in her surroundings. She had a passion for shopping, especially for purses, and she

loved making her family feel special and loved through little acts of care.

Renee’s warmth and kindness extended to many, including special friends Lisa and Larry Holden, and

Nevin and Kari Norwood, whose companionship she treasured.

Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love she showed and the memories she created will be

cherished forever.

Visitation will be 11:00am to 1:00pm Sunday, December 1 st , 2024, at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral

Home.

The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm Sunday, December 1 st , 2024, in the Chapel of Bennett-May &

Pierce Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Johnson Officiating.

The burial will follow in the Jackson Cemetery in Minor Hill, Tennessee.
