The Family Center and the Maury Regional Health Care Foundation

The Family Center and the Maury Regional Health Care Foundation have been working together for over 15 years to improve the health and quality of life of Maury County residents by offering vital support to people and families who require medication assistance to treat conditions like diabetes, viral infections, and others. Through The Family Center, individuals or families can apply to be a member of the medication assistance program. They will then transmit their prescriptions to a specific pharmacy in Columbia, where they will be filled, if approved. With this simplified method, individuals may concentrate on their health while the organization takes care of the cost of their necessary prescription drugs. This has a $250 annual cap and excludes drugs and painkillers. This year marks the 30th anniversary of The Family Center’s founding in 1994. They are a well-established nonprofit organization that supports its community holistically with the goal of improving stability and health. The Family Center has a busy season in the fall. Through a program called Santa’s Workshop, they gave 1,236 children gifts for the holidays, 807 turkeys for households for Thanksgiving, and 141 bags filled with school supplies to kids in Maury County in 2023. That figure is anticipated to increase in 2024.
