Ryan Egly is Selected to Give the 2024 Columbia State Commencement Address

The commencement event for the fall 2024 class will be held on December 14th at 9:00 AM, and Columbia State is happy to announce that alumnus Ryan Egly will give the commencement address. Born in Lawrenceburg, Egly graduated from Columbia State in 2012 with a general transfer Associate of Science degree. In August 2015, he started working in economic development as a project manager for the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, and in July 2019, he was appointed president and CEO. In addition to securing $17.5 million in state and federal grants to support site development, tourism enhancement, marketing, historic preservation, downtown revitalization, higher education, entrepreneurial development, and infrastructure projects, Egly has collaborated with community leaders and stakeholders since 2015 to secure $272 million in private sector investment, resulting in the creation of 1,327 new jobs. Egly was elected by his peers to represent the Middle Tennessee region on the Board of Directors for the Tennessee Economic Development Council in 2022, and Governor Lee named him to the Launch Tennessee Board of Directors.
