During the 114th Tennessee General Assembly, State Representative Kip Capley, a Republican from Summertown, was reelected to the position of House Republican Caucus Secretary. When the caucus chairman and vice-chairman are not present, Capley will serve as secretary. He will also be in charge of keeping track of the topics discussed at caucus meetings and sharing information about these topics as well as other crucial matters at the caucus chairman’s or the caucus’s direction. “I thank my fellow members of the House Republican Caucus for reelecting me to serve as secretary,” Capley said. “It’s a great privilege advocating for conservative principles in the State House, and I’m excited to continue our work making Tennessee an even better place to live, work, and raise a family.” Since 2023, Capley has been the secretary. Wayne and a portion of Hardin, Lawrence, and Maury counties make up House District 71, which he was first elected to serve in 2022.
