The University of North Alabama’s Doctor of Nursing Practice has been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Board of Commissioners for a period of five years, concluding in 2029. The curriculum, staff, resources, and student outcomes of the DNP program are all carefully assessed during the accreditation process and compared to predetermined benchmarks of excellence. The procedure further strengthens ACONHP’s commitment to offering a top-notch education that satisfies changing healthcare needs and advances their ongoing development. By evaluating and identifying programs that use good educational practices, the CCNE serves the public interest. In addition to supporting the ongoing development and enhancement of collegiate professional education and nursing residency/fellowship programs, CCNE accreditation is a voluntary, self-regulatory process that encourages and supports ongoing self-assessment by nursing programs.
