Firefighters Earn Vehicle Extrication Certification

After participating in a five night/one day vehicle extrication certification class, a group of 21 firefighters have earned their certification. Fire officials attribute a large portion of the credit to the Lawrence County Commission who increased funding to local fire departments under the current budget. This means fewer hours spent on non-stop fundraising for these volunteers, and more time training and becoming better prepared to serve the community.
