Scammer Calls in Wayne County, Tennessee

Wayne County Sheriff, Shane Fisher, is advising all residents to stay aware of scammers. Recent incidents have included someone impersonating a Sargent and stating “you have missed jury duty for Federal Court”. The caller is asking for money to be sent to cover the dues of missing jury duty. The caller ID even show as “Sheriff’s Office” and the local office number is displayed. This is not how matters would be handled and law enforcement would never ask for money as compensation.
