Newly Assigned Giles County Sheriff Gives a Statement

Joe Purvis, newly assigned Sheriff of Giles County, gave a statement in regards to the acceptance of his new position,
“I am humbled by the amount of support I have received and give my thanks to the people of Giles County. I don’t see this as a personal victory, just a transition in leadership for the Sherifs Department. My focus is to be able to hand the elected Sheriff of 2026 a professional and modern Sheriff’s Department.”
Purvis is the deputy that former Sheriff Kyle Helton recommended to take the position upon his resignation. Purvis will remain Sheriff of Giles County until the 2026 election.
