Lawrence County School System is pleased to report that the educational system has reached an impressive 97.1% graduation rate! This accomplishment is a testament to the diligence and commitment of the community as a whole, as well as the teachers, staff, and students who have collaborated to support student success.
“So, the graduation rate in Lawrence County is 97.1% for the graduating class of 2024-2025 is one of the highest graduation rates that we’ve had in recent years. Hats off to our secondary teachers, administrators, and counselors for making that happen but, I think what folks often overlook is the importance of elementary school. When our children are in pre-K at ages three and four, graduation rate, success rate, future opportunities, and career opportunities begin in those lower grades and work their way through to the day they walk across that stage and become productive members of society. Hoping that they return to Lawrence County and work in our county and help us continue to grow as county but for our graduates of 24-25, so many of them entered the workforce right away thanks to our college and career readiness program or career technical education, some of them went right into junior college and will begin working in a few years or pursue a four-year degree. Either way we’re blessed in Lawrence County to have people making a difference each and every day in the life of a child.”
Out of 131 reporting school districts, LCSS is placed 22nd, which demonstrates the dedication to academic performance and setting up children for success in the future.
