During the execution of a search warrant Wednesday morning, Colbert County Drug Task Force agents seized at least three ounces of cocaine and hundreds of rounds of ammunition, including an assault weapon with high-capacity drums. Task Force Director Curtis Burns said that when agents stormed the home, they discovered the suspect who was thought to be supplying the drugs. Three ounces of crack and powder cocaine were discovered and seized by agents from the house. Along with two bulletproof vests and over $2,000 in cash, agents also discovered and seized a number of weaponries, including an AR-15 assault rifle that had several hundred rounds of ammunition and high-capacity drums. The 35-year-old Virgil Lee Holland III was taken into custody and convicted of selling illegal drugs. Burns stated that additional charges against Holland are probable and that the investigation into the execution of the search warrant on Wednesday is still underway. The search warrant was carried out with assistance from the Muscle Shoals, Tuscumbia, and Colbert County Sheriff’s Office.
