A Summertown man has been arrested following an investigation by special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) squad. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) sent a CyberTip to TBI agents on November 4th about an online app account that shared content related to child sexual abuse. The investigation led to the execution of a search warrant at a property in Summertown, where a cell phone was located that included child sex abuse material. The research also revealed that Stephen Dyer was the owner of the account and the phone. Stephen Thomas Dyer was arrested and charged with one count of child exploitation on November 5th, with the help of the TBI Criminal Investigation Division special agents and the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office. He being held without bond at the Lawrence County Jail.
