The Tennessee Highway Patrol, Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, Murfreesboro Police Department, Smyrna Police Department, Franklin Police Department, and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit conducted Operation Fallback on I-840 and SR-96 on Monday, November 4th. The task? To target reckless driving, drowsy driving, speeding, and distracted driving.
The outcomes are self-evident! Just one car accident and one report of reckless driving were handled by law enforcement in a 24-hour period, while 144 vehicle stops resulted in 73 speeding citations, 15 hands-free citations, 1 move-over law citation, 40 other traffic infractions, 30 warning citations, 6 driver’s license violations (suspended, revoked, cancelled, and no license), 4 seatbelt citations, 1 wanted person’s arrest, 1 DUI arrest, and 4 financial responsibility citations. Great job to the multiple law enforcements involved!
