Florence Man Arrested with Over a Dozen Sex Crime Charges

According to Times Daily, over a dozen sex crimes involving young teens have led to the arrest and charging of a fast-food restaurant manager. Florence resident Garrett David Wilkins, 38, was arrested last week and charged with six counts of producing child pornography with a minor, six counts of possessing pornography depicting minors, two counts of sending obscene material to a minor, and one count each of second-degree sexual abuse, enticing a minor to enter a vehicle or residence for immoral purposes, and electronic solicitation of a child, according to court documents. A 15-year-old restaurant employee is the alleged victim of the offenses. A member of the county Department of Human Resources contacted a Lauderdale County Sheriff’s detective after receiving two reports claiming that Wilkins and the minor had engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct at the Florence restaurant. Wilkins has been arrested and is currently being held at the Lauderdale County Detention Center on a $606,000 bond.
