Tennessee Valley faces crop losses despite incoming rainfall.

Much of the Tennessee Valley region will finally see some rainfall later on Thursday as a cold front makes its’ way across the area. For local farmers, though, it’s too little too late. Most corn and soybean crops have produced from 50 to 80%  less than in recent years. The local corn crop started out looking good in the spring, but suffered from the severe drouth during the summer months. Some farmers had some crop insurance but that will not make up for the heave crop losses.

Though some areas will get some rain thru Friday, it will far too little to do much for the drouth.
