Florence Alabama Police Officer Brandon Lindsey has been recognized for his dedication in helping the homeless in his community. Lindsey created the CLIP program, which assists homeless persons in obtaining new IDs. This is a crucial step in getting people off the streets. Having an ID helps them to secure jobs, apply for housing, and much more. In less than six months, the program has helped 26 people obtain new IDs, – 6 people get into new housing – 3 people gain employment – 3 people begin parenting classes – and 2 begin programs at Northwest Community College. Lindsey has been awarded the Hometown Hero award from Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial.
