After 18 years, Kyle Helton has resigned from his office as Giles County Sheriff to accept a position with the Tennessee Department of Homeland Security.
Helton said the department has made great achievements and recommended the commission appoint Giles County Sheriff’s Department Captain Joe Purvis to fill out the remainder of his term, and continue to move the Department forward.
Helton said… “I do want the citizens of Giles County to know that, for the last 18 years, I’ve dedicated my heart and soul to this job, I love this county and its citizens.”
Helton’s final comments thanked County Executive Graham Stowe, the county commission and the citizens of Giles County for allowing him to serve.
