According to a recent announcement by state senator Page Walley, the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation awarded Lawrence County $187,920 for automotive oil collections and solid waste management convenience centers. These grants help communities locally achieve their recycling and solid waste management objectives. The grant programs assist and motivate communities to reach recycling and solid waste targets. Recipients can use the grants to replace or remove green boxes and construct or renovate convenience stores. Awardees have to apply to be eligible for upgrades and recycling.
