Due to unexpected soil and utility conditions found during construction, the University of Tennessee at Knoxville is requesting an increase in the budget for the Lindsey Nelson Stadium rehabilitation project. The proposed $9.3 million increase to account for new utility improvements at the Tennessee baseball facility will be put to a vote by the UT System Board of Trustees. To cover actual expenses and construction documentation, the proposal would raise the stadium reconstruction budget to $105.1 million if it were accepted. The Tennessee State School Bond Authority bonds that UT now uses would not be impacted by the increase, which would come from gifts to UT.
