Hester Mae Collier, age 88, of Columbia,TN passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024, at her residence. She was a native of Lawrence County,TN, a homemaker, and of the Christian Faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Albert and Willie Mae Freemon Smith; her husband, Virgil Walker Collier; one son, John Michael Collier; eight brothers and sisters.

She is survived by one daughter, Tena Michelle Collier of Columbia, TN; one son, Virgil Wayne Collier (Kate) of Mt. Pleasant, TN; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Thursday, October 17, 2024. Interment will follow at Freemon Cemetery in Leoma, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
