Health Department Offers Flu Vaccinations

The Lawrence County Health Department is offering free flu shots Tuesday, from 8 to 11:30 a.m. No insurance is required and there is no need to make an appointment. The Health Department also has available high dose flu vaccines for those ages 65 and older. Again, no appointment is necessary – walk-ins are welcome before 4 p.m. The Centers for Disease Control recommends the high-dose vaccine for ages 65 and older because it has proven to have a higher effectiveness than the standard vaccination.
