During a meeting Tuesday, Lawrence County Commissioners declared the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department’s K-9 JoJo as surplus property so that they could give him to his current caretaker. JoJo was donated to the department by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department in May. His handler, Investigator Anthony Cutcher, was subsequently killed in a motorcycle accident. Since that time, JoJo has been cared for by Cutcher’s companion Shelbey Ebersole. Passage of the resolution allows ownership of JoJo to be transferred to Ebersole.
