CITY AND COUNTY OFFICIALS ALONG WITH OTHER LOCAL DIGNITARIES AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS GATHERED MONDAY AFTER IN COURTROOM A OF THE LAWRENCE COUNTY COURTHOUSE FOR THE CEREMONIAL SWEARING IN OF CIRCUIT JUDGE JESSICA “JESSIE” CHANDLER PARRISH. PARRISH WAS APPOINTED TO REPLACE JUDGE DAVID ALLEN UPON HIS RETIREMENT. JUDGE ALLEN SERVED THE 22ND JUDICIAL DISTRICT FOR NINE YEARS AND IN 2021 RECEIVED THE JUDGES MAKING A DIFFERENCE AWARD AT THE TENNESSEE ASSOCIATION OF RECOVER COURT PROFESSIONALS CONFERENCE. JUDGE PARRISH IS A LAWRENCE COUNTY NATIVE WHO EARNED HER BACHELOR’S DEGREE AT AUSTIN PEAY AND HER JURIS DOCTOR AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MEMPHIS. SHE HAS WORKED THE PAST SIX YEARS AS AN ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY, FIRST IN GILES COUNTY, AND THEN IN LAWRENCE.
