Geraldine Evelyn Cox Brown

Geraldine Evelyn Cox Brown was born April 22, 1941 in Lynnville, TN to the late Edward Earl Cox, Sr. and Jewel Fitzpatrick Cox. She departed this life on August 1, 2024 at her daughter’s home.

A lifelong Christian, she was a member of Round Hill AME Church in Lynnville, TN, where she served many roles over the years – Women’s Missionary Society, Stewardess, Usher Board President, and a member of Friendship Club #2.  Geraldine received her formal education in the Giles County School System, graduating from Bridgeforth High School in 1959. She attended Motlow State Community College where she received her Nurses Aide Certificate. She was employed at Faber Castel, retiring from there in 1987.

She enjoyed taking care of other people. Geraldine was loving and caring and put others before herself. She enjoyed watching the L.A. Dodgers and the Tennessee Vols. Geraldine loved spending time with her family and friends.

 

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 7th, 2024 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory and on Thursday, August 8th, 2024 from 11:00am to 12:00 pm.

 

The Funeral Service will be Thursday, August 8th, 2024 at 12:00pm in the chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory.

 

The Burial will take place at Cox Cemetery in Lynnville, TN.

 

She was preceded in death by her sisters Effie Talley, Missouri Holman. six brothers, Morgan Cox, Edward Cox, Jr., Tommy Cox, Coleman Cox, Joe Nelson Cox, and Robert Wade Cox, Sr.

 

She leaves to mourn, son Jeffery Brown, Lewisburg, TN, daughter Vanessa Brown, Pulaski, TN, William J (Billy) Brown, father of her children, Lewisburg, TN, Three sisters-in-law, Mary Cox, Lynnville, TN, Louise Cox, Pulaski, TN, Betty Cox, Nashville, TN; Grandchildren:  Keyshaun Summers, De’Ontarius Summers, Quanisha Brown, Markeith Brown, Marcel Brown, and Cain McWilliams; ten great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Special friend Grace Parks.

 

Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements for Geraldine Evelyn Cox Brown.
