Standley Wade Nelson formerly of Pulaski was born on December 28, 1965 in Elkmont, AL and departed this earthly life on July 23, 2024 in Murfreesboro, TN.
Standley professed hope in Christ and served as a Sunday School teacher at St. Rebecca PB Church. He was always known as a quiet and gentle spirit with a big, giving heart.
Standley was a hard worker and devoted many years at The Rubber Plant, The Saw Mill, and Sharp Motor Company. In his free time, he loved spending time with his family & friends, taking random trips to Goodwill looking for antiques, and enjoying the simple things in life. Standley left a positive mark on everyone he encountered and will be truly missed.
Standley is preceded in death by his mother, Sara Ann Gilbert; his father, Manuel Nelson Jr.; grandmothers, Ethel Gilbert & Leona Nelson; sister, Edith Nelson; nephew, Nicholas Nelson; brother in law, Hulburt “Buddy” Crook; as well as other loved ones.
He leaves to cherish his memory; daughters, Shantel & Tierra Nelson; granddaughter, Ariyah Nelson; sisters, Sandra Gilbert, Sanner Faye Crook; niece, Brandi Crook; nephews, Christopher Crook, Deon Crook, Antonio Nelson, Travis Crook; uncles, Jerry Gilbert, Johnny Dean Reynolds; cousins, Kevin Randolph, Faith Randolph, Timmy Nelson, and Ricky Nelson; close friends, Jamie Malone, Tyrone Malone, and James Talley; special friend, Mildred “Lou” Baugh & La’terryn “Lil Man”; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2024 beginning with the visitation from 1:30pm until 3:00pm and the 3:00pm service immediately following at Jordan Funeral Home 327 Mill Street, Pulaski, Tennessee.
Interment will be in Gilbert Cemetery, 1787 Hagan Road, Prospect, Tennessee.
Jordan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Standley Wade Nelson.
