St. Joseph Sets New Cost For Water Taps

St. Joseph leaders have established a new rate for water taps.  After conducting a cost comparison in nearby areas, members of the Board of Commissioners voted during their May 4 meeting to establish an across-the-board rate of $1,200.  The board made the change after they learned that the city had been losing money on water taps for several years.  The cost for water taps had previously been set at $400, however the actual cost to the city was $682 plus the cost of labor.
