Triple-A has provided some Halloween safety tips to ensure that our local trick-or-treaters enjoy a fun, but safe, holiday.  They remind parents that, on average, children are more than twice as likely to be hit by a car and killed on Halloween, than any other day of the year.  Drivers are urged to keep an eye out for pedestrians, slow down in neighborhoods, and avoid distractions and impairments behind the wheel.  Triple-A recommends that you:  Remain seated and buckled  –  Designate a navigator  –  Focus on your driving  –  Keep an eye out for trick-or-treaters  –  and Drive sober.  Make sure that your trick-or-treaters are:  Very visible  –  Cross the street responsibly –  Stay alert  –  Stay on sidewalks  –  and Remove bulky costumes before buckling children into their car seats.
