City of Lawrenceburg Seeks Applicants for Assistant Manager of Animal Shelter

The City of Lawrenceburg is currently seeking qualified applicants to manage the Animal Shelter.  Applications may be obtained at the Career Center. September 5, 2023.

Animal Shelter Assistant Manager

JOB SUMMARY

The Animal Shelter Assistant Manager provides primary assistance to the Animal Shelter Manager and oversees the work of the Animal Shelter staff. In the absence of the Animal Shelter Manager, this position manages and oversees all aspects of the Animal Shelter including day-to-day operations, animal care and control, staff management, contractual compliance, and managing outside relationships. The Animal Shelter Assistant Manager makes recommendations to the Animal Shelter Manager to help maintain a safe, healthy environment for animals, staff and the public and create a team environment dedicated to the success of the Shelter.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Training and/or certification in animal science, business administration, veterinary medicine, or related field
• One (1) year of work experience in animal care and control
• Some supervisory experience in an animal shelter under the supervision of a shelter manager.
