THE LAWRENCE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE IS INVESTIGATING A VANDALISM INCIDENT THAT OCCURRED OVER THE WEEKEND. ACCORDING TO REPORTS, DEPUTIES SPOKE WITH A COMPLAINANT WHO ADVISED THE WINDOWS ON HIS 2007 FORD FOCUS WERE BUSTED OUT AND THREE OF HIS TIRES WERE SLICED AFTER HE LEFT HIS VEHICLE ALONG THE SIDE OF THE ROAD NEAR LOVERS LANE AND WATERLOO ROAD. THE COMPLAINANT LEFT TO GET A SPARE TIRE AFTER HAVING A FLAT. SEVERAL ITEMS WERE TAKEN FROM THE VEHICLE. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED SOMETIME AFTER 1 AM ON SUNDAY MORNING AND 2 PM SUNDAY AFTERNOON. A DEPUTY WAS CALLED TO THE LOCATION ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON TO A REPORT OF AN ABANDONED VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE HAD NO DAMAGE AT THE TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED AS IT WAS PARKED ON PRIVATE PROPERTY. ANYONE WITH INFORMATION IS ENCOURAGED TO CONTACT THE LAWRENCE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE.
