PARTS OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE AND NORTH ALABAMA ARE DEALING WITH THE EFFECTS OF SEVERE WEATHER FOR THE SECOND STRAIGHT WEEKEND. SEVERE STORMS AND POSSIBLE TORNADOES LEFT DAMAGE TO NUMEROUS COMMUNITIES LATE FRIDAY AND EARLY SATURDAY. SURVEY TEAMS FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILL BE LOOKING AT DAMAGE IN LEWIS, WAYNE, MARSHALL AND THREE OTHER COUNTIES TO SEE IF TORNADOES TOUCHED DOWN. BEECH CREEK ROAD NEAR CLIFTON IS ONE AREA WHERE HEAVY DAMAGE OCCURRED IN THE NORTH PART OF WAYNE COUNTY. IN LEWIS COUNTY, HOMES WERE REPORTED TO HAVE HEAVY DAMAGE ALONG BUFFALO ROAD AND JAMES WHITEHEAD ROAD. NEAR CHAPEL HILL IN MARSHALL COUNTY, SEVERAL TRAIN CARS OVERTURNED ON THE RAILROAD AS STORMS PASSED THROUGH THAT AREA. THE WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE IN NASHVILLE SAID IT WILL TAKE A FEW DAYS TO TAKE A CLOSE LOOK AT ALL OF THE AFFECTED AREAS. IN WEST TENNESSEE’S MCNAIRY COUNTY, A STATE OF EMERGENCY HAS BEEN DECLARED AND SEVERAL DEATHS HAVE BEEN REPORTED. AT LEAST ONE DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HAZEL GREEN AREA OF MADISON COUNTY, ALABAMA.
