THE LAWRENCEBURG UTILITY SYSTEM BOARD OF DIRECTORS HELD ITS REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23RD.  FOLLOWING A DISCUSSION ON ROUTINE FINANCIAL MATTERS AND UTILITY CONSUMPTION, THE BOARD DISCUSSED THE RESULTS OF A COST OF SERVICE STUDY FOR THE WATER AND SEWER DEPARTMENTS.  BASED ON THE STUDY’S RECOMMENDATIONS, THE BOARD APPROVED MODIFIED RATE STRUCTURES THAT WILL RESULT IN A BILLING INCREASE OF NINE CENTS PER DAY FOR AN AVERAGE WATER CUSTOMER AND TWELVE CENTS PER DAY FOR AN AVERAGE SEWER CUSTOMER.  THE INCREASE WILL GO INTO EFFECT ON APRIL FIRST WITH A SIMILAR INCREASE TO BE APPLIED ON WATER SOLD TO SURROUNDING UTILITY DISTRICTS.  THE BOARD ALSO APPROVED A  ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLAR ADMINISTRATIVE FEE FOR CUSTOMERS CONNECTING SOLAR POWER FOR SALE TO THE LUS SYSTEM.

IN OTHER BUSINESS, SYSTEM MANAGER VIC PUSSER REPORTED THAT THE TVA FUEL ADJUSTMENT CHARGE FOR MARCH HAS BEEN DECREASED WHICH WILL RESULT IN A SIX PERCENT LOWER ELECTRIC BILL VERSUS FEBRUARY FOR RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMERS.  HE ALSO REPORTED THAT SIX HUNDRED CUSTOMERS WERE AFFECTED BY THE FEBRUARY 16TH TORNADOES WITH SERVICE BEING RESTORED TO ALL BUT ONE CUSTOMER BY 7:30 PM THAT EVENING.  PUSSER UPDATED THE BOARD ON VARIOUS ONGOING PROJECTS AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES AFFECTING THE SYSTEM.
