HARDIN COUNTY IS NOW AT HIGH RISK FOR CHRONIC WASTING DISEASE IN DEER FOLLOWING A CWD-POSITIVE DEER IN MCNAIRY COUNTY. ACCORDING TO A PRESS RELEASE, THE DEER FOUND AND TESTED FOR CHRONIC WASTING DISEASE TESTED POSITIVE ONLY ONE MILE AWAY FROM THE HARDIN COUNTY LINE. TWRA URGES HUNTERS TO ASSIST THE STATE IN HARVESTING CWD-POSITIVE DEER BY USING THEIR “REPLACEMENT BUCK PROGRAM” WHICH DOES NOT COUNT AGAINST A HUNTER’S OVERALL LIMIT. ADDITIONALLY, HUNTERS WHO HARVEST A CHRONIC WASTING DISEASE DEER WILL RECEIVE A $75 VOUCHER TO COVER DEER PROCESSING FEES FOR THEIR NEXT HARVEST. FOR MORE INFORMATION VISIT TN.GOV/TWRA
