TRUMAN ORTON, 83, OF LAWRENCEBURG, DIED THURSDAY. HE WAS A NATIVE OF LAWRENCE COUNTY, RETIRED DRYWALL CONTRACTOR, AND A MEMBER OF SALEM CHURCH OF CHRIST. HE WAS ALSO AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE LAWRENCEBURG ROTARY CLUB, AND CHAIRMAN OF THE MIDDLE TENNESSEE DISTRICT FAIR LIVESTOCK EXHIBIT WHICH NOW BEARS HIS NAME.

HE IS SURVIVED BY WIFE, JOYCE ORTON; TWO DAUGHTERS, SHEILA BEDINGFIELD OF LEOMA, AND BELINDA ROMER OF LAWRENCEBURG; ONE SON, KEITH ORTON OF LAWRENCEBURG; TWO SISTERS, STARLENE BUIE OF COLUMBIA AND GLENDA GOINS OF HUNTSVILLE, AL; FOUR GRANDCHILDREN, FIVE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN.

THE GRAVESIDE SERVICE FOR TRUMAN ORTON WILL BE SATURDAY AT 1 AT LAWRENCE COUNTY MEMORIAL GARDENS. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE VISITORS FRIDAY FROM 4 TO 8 AT NEAL FUNERAL HOME.
