THE LAWRENCEBURG UTILITY SYSTEM BOARD OF DIRECTORS HELD ITS RESCHEDULED NOVEMBER MEETING ON THURSDAY EVENING (DECEMBER 3).  THE BOARD HEARD A PRESENTATION ON ITS ANNUAL AUDIT WHICH FOUND THE SYSTEM TO BE FINANCIALLY SOUND AND IN COMPLIANCE WITH ITS POLICIES.  THE BOARD ALSO REVIEWED MONTHLY UTILITY USAGE AND OTHER FINANCIAL MATTERS.  IT WAS REPORTED THAT THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG IS PURCHASING ALL STREET LIGHTS LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS AND WILL BE REPLACING THESE WITH ENERGY EFFICIENT L.E.D. FIXTURES OVER THE NEXT TWO YEARS.  THE CITY WILL CONTRACT WITH L.U.S. FOR INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE.

 

IN OTHER BUSINESS, THE BOARD APPROVED A CONTRIBUTION TO THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO COVER DEBT SERVICE FOR THE NEW COLLEGE. THE BOARD ALSO APPROVED A NEW DEPOSIT AND RECOMMECTION FEE STRUCTURE THAT RECOGNIZES SAVINGS ACHIEVED THROUGH IMPLEMENTATION OF ITS  A.M.I. SMART GRID SYSTEM.  NEW CUSTOMERS WILL BE PAYING APPROXIMATELY THE SAME FOR ELECTRIC, GAS, AND WATER CONNECTIONS, AND EXISTING CUSTOMERS WILL PAY LESS FOR RECONNECTION OF ELECTRIC SERVICE IF NEEDED.

 

SYSTEM MANAGER VIC PUSSER REPRORTED THAT A DECREASE IN THE T.V.A. FUEL ADJUSTMENT CHARGE WILL RESULT IN A ONE TO TWO DOLLAR REDUCTION ON THE AVERAGE RESIDENTIAL POWER BILL.  HE ALSO REPORTED THAT THE A.M.I. INSTALLATION ON POWER METERS IS COMPLET AND THAT THE SYSTEM WILL NOW BEGIN WORKING ON GAS.  APPROXIMATELY TWENTY-ONE THOUSAND METERS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED.  PUSSER REPORTED ON THE STATUS OF NUMEROUS PROJECTS INCLUDING SEWER CONSTRUCTION AT THE NEW COLLEGE AND SIDEWALK RENOVATIONS AROUND THE LAWRENCEBURG SQUARE..
