THE LAWRENCE COUNTY COMMISSION MET IN REGULAR SESSION TUESDAY. LEADERS ENTERTAINED A LENGTHY AGENDA IN WHICH ALL ITEMS WERE VOTED ON AND APPROVED. AMONG THOSE ITEMS INCLUDED A RESOLUTION TO DECLARE A 2017 CHEVY 3500 FROM THE LAWRENCE COUNTY AMBULANCE SERVICE AS SURPLUS TO DONATE TO CENTER POINT FIRE AND RESCUE AND A RESOLUTION ALLOWING THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE TO NEGOTIATE THE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE LAWRENCE COUNTY EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS DISTRICT TO PROVIDE DISPATCH SERVICES FOR THOSE AGENCIES HISTORICALLY SERVED BY LAWRENCE COUNTY. RESOLUTIONS TO ENTER INTO A COOPERATIVE PURCHASING GROUP PLAN WITH THE NATIONAL COOPERATIVE PURCHASING ALLIANCE AND TO DECLARE THE SERVICE WEAPONS OF DEPUTY SHERIFF'S PAT DAUGHTRY AND TIM VESS WERE ALSO VOTED ON AND PASSED. WILLIAM DUNN, JIM JACO, VIRGIL JOHNSON AND JERRY CREWS WERE ELECTED TO THE LAWRENCE COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION AND TERRI GOBBLE WAS APPOINTED TO THE LIBRARY BOARD AND DIANE EZELL AND NANCY BREWER WERE APPOINTED TO THE BUFFALO RIVER REGION LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES. A RESOLUTION TO ESTABLISH AND APPOINT MEMBERS TO THE ANIMAL WELFARE COMMITTEE SAW MUCH FAVOR WITH ALL BUT ONE VOTING FOR. THE COMMISSIONS SAFETY FACILITIES COMMITTEE WILL MEET THURSDAY AT 5 IN THE SECOND FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM.
