A TRAFFIC STOP LATE LAST WEEK IN LAWRENCE COUNTY RESULTED IN AN ARREST.  ACCORDING TO REPORTS, A DEPUTY WITH THE LAWRENCE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT INITIATED THE STOP ON EAST GAINES STREET AT THE DAVID CROCKETT MOTEL ON FRIDAY AFTER WITNESSING A VEHICLE WITH THE WRONG LICENSE PLATE. THE DRIVER, IDENTIFIED AS JUSTIN JUDD, EXITED THE CAR AND ADVISED THE OFFICER HE WAS JUST MOVING THE VEHICLE. JUDD, COULD NOT PROVIDE PROPER IDENTIFICATION, AND GAVE CONSENT TO SEARCH THE VEHICLE WHICH YIELDED A CIGARETTE PACK THAT CONTAINED A CRYSTAL SUBSTANCE BELIEVED TO BE METHAMPHETAMINE. JUDD RAN FROM THE OFFICER AS HE ATTEMPTED TO TAKE HIM INTO CUSTODY. A TASER WAS DEPLOYED AND JUDD WAS APPREHENDED. JUDD FACES CHARGES OF SIMPLE POSSESSION AND RESISTING ARREST.
