THE LAWRENCE COUNTY COMMISSION MET IN REGULAR SESSION TUESDAY VIA TELECONFERENCE.  THE MEETING BEGAN WITH THE APPROVAL OF BI MONTHLY FINANCIAL REPORTS BEFORE TURNING TO A LENGTHY AGENDA IN WHICH ALL ITEMS WERE VOTED ON AND APPROVED BEFORE LEADERS BROKE FOR RECESS DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER IN THE AREA.  AMONG THE RESOLUTIONS INCLUDE AMENDMENTS TO THE 2019-2020 BUDGET, THE NAMING OF THE BRIDGE OVER THE BUFFALO RIVER ON STATE ROUTE 240 THE SAM WASHBURN MEMORIAL BRIDGE, TO ACCEPT A DONATION IN THE AMOUNT OF 60 THOUSAND DOLLARS FROM THE LAWRENCE COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION TO BE USED AND EQUALLY DISTRIBUTED AMONG ALL SROS IN LAWRENCE COUNTY AS A BONUS FOR THE 2018-2019 YEAR AND THE APPROVAL OF 7 CARDIAC MONITORS AND ACCESSORY EQUIPMENT FOR EMS.  A RESOLUTION TO ENTER INTO AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG REGARDING THE SOUTHERN TENNESSEE HIGHER EDUCATION CENTER BROUGHT MUCH DISCUSSION AND A MOTION TO AMEND THE RESOLUTION TO POSTPONE ENTERING THE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT FAILED BY MAJORITY VOTE.  LEADERS CONTINUED TO DISCUSS THE RESOLUTION BUT HAD TO RECESS.  THE BOARD WILL RECONVENE TONIGHT AT 5.
