TWO HOMES COLLAPSED OVER THE WEEKEND IN HARDIN COUNTY. EMERGENCY PERSONNEL WERE DISPATCHED TO GLENDALE ROAD AFTER A LANDSLIDE WAS REPORTED ALONG THE TENNESSEE RIVER IN THE AREA OF CHALK BLUFF. TWO HOMES WERE IN DANGER OF COLLAPSING, AND ABOUT AN HOUR AFTER CREWS ARRIVED, THE FIRST OF THE TWO RESIDENTS TUMBLED DOWN THE STEEP BANK. THE HOME WAS VACANT AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. OCCUPANTS OF THE SECOND HOME WERE EVACUATED AND BY SUNDAY THAT PROPERTY TOO WAS ALSO IN THE RIVER. GLENDALE ROAD IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE AS THE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT IS GOING TO EVALUATE MOVING THE ROAD FURTHER BACK.
