THE LAWRENCEBURG CITY COUNCIL MEET IN REGULAR SESSION THIS MORNING.  THE MEETING BEGAN WITH MAYOR BLAKE LAY ADVISING HE COULDN'T BE MORE PROUDER OF THE HANDLING OF THE RECENT WEATHER EVENTS.  OTHER COMMISSIONERS MIRRORED THE SENTIMENT BEFORE REPORTS WERE GIVEN BY DEPARTMENT HEADS REGARDING LAST WEEK'S INCIDENT IN WHICH A TORNADO HAD TOUCHED DOWN IN THE CITY. LEADERS WANTED TO ESPECIALLY THANK RESPONDERS AND CREWS FROM OUTSIDE THE AREA THAT CAME TO HELP AS WELL AS LOCAL BUSINESSES AND RESTAURANTS THAT MADE SURE ALL THOSE WORKING WERE TAKEN CARE OF. JOE BAXTER FROM EMA GAVE REPORTS ON ALL INCIDENTS THAT OCCURRED BOTH LAST WEDNESDAY AND THIS WEDNESDAY IN THE COUNTY AND ADVISED THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WOULD BE SURVEYING TODAY.  LEADERS THEN TURNED TO A LENGTHY AGENDA IN WHICH ALL ITEMS WERE VOTED ON AND APPROVED.  AMONG THOSE ITEMS INCLUDE AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE 2019-2020 BUDGET AND RESOLUTIONS ALLOWING THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO APPLY FOR A SAFE COMMUNITY PROGRAM GRANT AND AN ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT.  RESOLUTIONS TO ALLOW THE CITY TO APPLY FOR A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT AND TO ENER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH PYROTECHNIC DISPLAY ALSO PASSED.  THE BOARD WILL MEET AGAIN ON FEBRUARY 27TH AT 9.
