AN IRON CITY MAN AND A MT. PLEASANT WOMAN WERE ARRESTED AFTER A BRIEF PURSUIT THIS WEEKEND IN LAWRENCE COUNTY. ACCORDING TO REPORTS, DEPUTIES WITH THE LAWRENCE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT ATTEMPTED TO STOP A VEHICLE DRIVEN BY NATHAN ATWELL ON IRON CITY ROAD SUNDAY.  ATWELL FAILED TO STOP AND CONTINUED ONTO RAILROAD BED AND THEN ONTO ROCKY FORD ROAD BEFORE COMING TO A STOP ON CEDAR GROVE ROAD WHEN THE VEHICLE HE WAS DRIVING GOT STUCK IN A MUD PIT.  ATWLELL ALONG WITH THE PASSENGER, LACEY BROWN, LEFT ON FOOT, ATTEMPTED TO CROSS A CREEK AND RUN TOWARDS BROMLEY ROAD.  THE FEMALE WAS FOUND NEAR THE RIVER BANK AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY EMS.  ATWELL WAS LATER TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AND BROWN WAS ARRESTED UPON RELEASE FROM THE HOSPITAL.
