SEVERAL MAURY COUNTY SCHOOLS HAVE BEEN SELECTED BY THE TENNESSEE BEHAVIOR SUPPORTS PROJECT AT VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY AS 2019-2020 SCHOOL OF RECOGNITION.  ACCORDING TO THE DAILY HERALD, BROWN ELEMENTARY,HOWELL ELEMENTARY, MT. PLEASANT ELEMENTARY AND WRIGHT ELEMENTARY WERE AWARDED WITH THE DESIGNATION. EACH SCHOOL HAS BEEN A PARTICIPANT IN THE PROJECT AND HAS IMPLEMENTED A POSITIVE AND PROACTIVE BEHAVIORAL SYSTEMS FRAMEWORK WHICH CONSISTS OF: IDENTIFYING COMMON BEHAVIORAL EXPECTATIONS ACROSS CAMPUS, TEACHING, RE-TEACHING, REINFORCING, AND REGULARLY ACKNOWLEDGING STUDENTS, FACULTY, AND FAMILIES FOR EXHIBITING THESE EXPECTATIONS. IN ADDITION THEY HAVE ALSO DEMONSTRATED USE OF SCHOOL-WIDE BEHAVIORAL DATA TO INFORM TEACHING PRACTICES AND LEVELS OF SUPPORT PROVIDED TO STUDENTS BASED ON NEED.
