A LEOMA MAN IS BEHIND BARS AFTER INTERFERRING WITH FIRE FIGHTERS DUTIES FRIDAY EVENING. ACCORDING TO REPORTS, DEPUTIES WITH THE LAWRENCE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT WERE DISPATCHED TO LEOMA FIRE DEPARTMENT AROUND 10 PM TO A CALL OF A DISORDERLY SUBJECT WHO WAS CLIMBING ON AND ATTEMPTING TO GET INTO FIRE TRUCKS.  THE MALE, IDENTIFIED AS 36 YEAR OLD JAMES WILLIAM COOPER, APPEARED INTOXICATED AND WAS ACTING AGGRESSIVE AND BEGAN TO RUN FROM THE SCENE.  HE WAS QUICKLY APPREHENDED AND FOUGHT WITH OFFICERS AS THEY ATTEMPTED TO PLACE HIM IN HANDCUFFS.  COOPER WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE LAWRENCE COUNTY JAIL WHERE HE FACES CHARGES OF PUBLIC INTOXICATION AND RESISTING ARREST.
