THE GILES COUNTY COMMISSION MET IN REGULAR SESSION MONDAY. THE MEETING BEGAN WITH THE ELECTION OF RETIRED PULASKI PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR HAROLD BROOKS TO FILL THE VACANT DISTRICT 7 SEAT, WHICH HE WILL SERVE UNTIL THE NEXT COUNTY GENERAL ELECTION IN AUGUST 2020. LEADERS DISCUSSED THE NEXT COUNTY ATTORNEY, WHICH IS CURRENTLY BEING FILLED BY ATTORNEY CHRIS WILLIAMS WHOSE TERM WILL EXPIRE AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER. LEADERS VOTED TO SEND THE RESOLUTION BACK TO THE LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE FOR A REVIEW AND DECISION. NOTARIES WERE RENEWED AND CHAIRMAN, VICE CHAIRMAN AND RECORDING SECRETARY OF EACH COMMITTEE WERE SELECTED.
