NEW DETAILS REGARDING THE STRUCTURE FIRE THAT SERIOUSLY INJURED ONE PERSON THURSDAY IN LAWRENCEBURG.  FIREFIGHTERS WITH LAWRENCEBURG FIRE DEPARTMENT WERE DISPATCHED TO THE SCENE ON FREEMON STREET AROUND 10:45 AND UPON ARRIVAL RESPONDERS FOUND A HEAVILY INVOLVED SHED TYPE STRUCTURE FIRE.  THE FIRE WAS QUICKLY BROUGHT UNDER CONTROL.  ONE PERSON WHO WAS BURNED AS A RESULT OF THE FIRE WAS TREATED BY LAWRENCE COUNTY EMS AND TRANSPORTED TO  VANDERBILT MEDICAL CENTER FOR TREATMENT OF FIRST AND SECOND DEGREE BURNS.  AFTER AN INVESTIGATION, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE CAUSE WAS ACCIDENTAL.  IT IS BELIEVED THE PATIENT WAS SHARPENING A LAWN MOWER BLADE WITH A BENCH GRINDER WHEN SPARKS FROM THE PROCESS IGNITED VAPORS A GASOLINE CONTAINER LOCATED IN THE SAME ROOM.  THE LAWRENCEBURG FIRE DEPARTMENT WOULD LIKE TO ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO ALWAYS USE CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING HOT WORK THAT PRODUCES SPARKS OR EMBERS.
