A LEWIS COUNTY MAN WAS INJURED FRIDAY EVENING WHEN A FIRE BROKE OUT WHILE FILLING A CONTAINER WITH GAS.  MEDIA SOURCES REPORT, EMERGENCY PERSONNEL WERE CALLED TO THE SHELL STATION ON HIGHWAY 712 AROUND 9:30 PM.  THE VICTIM, DOUGLAS DUKE, WAS GETTING GAS AND AS HE REMOVED THE NOZZLE FROM THE SPOUT, A FIRE BROKE OUT.  DUKE ALONG WITH THE TRUCK HE WAS DRIVING CAUGHT ON FIRE.  DUKE SUSTAINED THIRD AND FOURTH DEGREE BURNS AND TRANSPORTED TO VANDERBILT HOSPITAL.  THE ACCIDENT REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.
