THE LAWRENCEBURG CITY COUNCIL MET IN REGULAR SESSION (THIS MORNING) THURSDAY.  THE MEETING BEGAN WITH UPDATES REGARDING FREEDOM FEST WHICH TOOK PLACE SATURDAY JUNE 29TH AND WAS REPORTED A HUGE SUCCESS WITH AN ATTENDANCE OVER 10 THOUSAND.  TEN TO TWELVE FOOD TRUCKS WERE AT THE EVENT AND MORE WILL BE INVITED NEXT YEAR. RYAN EGLY WITH THE LAWRENCE COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ANNOUNCED THEY WILL BE HAVING AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MEETING NEXT WEEK WHICH WILL BRING TOGETHER LOCAL LEADERS TO DISCUSS LAWRENCE COUNTY'S GROWTH.  DISCUSSION THEN TURNED TO NEW BUSINESS IN WHICH RESOLUTIONS TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH CGI COMMUNICATIONS TO UPDATE VIDEOS ON THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG'S WEBSITE AND TO AMEND AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF TENNESSEE DRIVER SERVICES TO INCLUDE RENEWAL OF GUN PERMITS AT THE LAWRENCEBURG CITY HALL LOCATION WERE APPROVED.  A RESOLUTION TO EXCLUDE FUTURE PART TIME EMPLOYEES FROM PARTICIPATION IN THE TENNESSEE CONSOLIDATED RETIREMENT SYSTEM WAS ALSO DISCUSSED AND APPROVED. THE COUNCIL WILL MEET AGAIN ON JULY 25TH.
