April 15th is the date non-proﬁt agencies seeking money from Giles County need to ﬁle applications with the county Financial Management ofﬁce.
A financial statement from the previous year besides the amount of money being sought is required.
For the 2019-20 budget year, the county will not mail reminder letters.
Apart from the nonproﬁts, completed budgeted request forms from county offices and departments need to be turned into the ﬁnancial management office by March 31.
A preliminary 2020-21 county budget will be given to county Budget Committee members by May 14 in time for hearings from May 27-June 3, according to a timetable approved.
Under this timetable, the budget would be ﬁnalized June 4th, a public hearing would be held June 24th and the county commission would adopt the non-profit, county general budgets and a tax rate on June 25th, in time for the next budget year starting July 1st.
