THE GIBBS ACRES FARM WAS HONORED LAST WEEK WITH THE CENTURY FARM AWARD DURING LAWRENCE COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE'S  SALUTE TO AGRICULTURE WEEK.  ESTABLISHED 103 YEARS AGO, BY JOHN HENRY AND ME GIBBS, THE GIBBS ACRES FARM IS ON OVER 340 ACRES AND PRODUCES HAY AND CATTLE.  EACH YEAR THE CHAMBER AND THE UT, TSU EXTENSION OFFICE SELECT A FARM TO RECOGNIZE AS A CENTURY FARM AND TO QUALIFY FOR CONSIDERATION, FARMS MUST STILL BE IN THE FAMILY AND HAVE BEEN IN CONTINUOUS OPERATION FOR AT LEAST 100 YEARS.
