THE ANNUAL BONNAROO MUSIC AND ARTS FESTIVAL WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE CITY OF MANCHESTER THIS THURSDAY THRU SUNDAY. THOUSAND OF ATTENDEES ARE EXPECTED TO VENTURE TO THE 700 ACRE MIDDLE TENNESSEE FARM AND THE AREA AROUND MANCHESTER SHOULD SEE AN INCREASE IN TRAFFIC VOLUME. TDOT AND THP ARE PREPARING FOR THE EVENT AND ARE WORKING CLOSELY WITH THE MANCHESTER POLICE DEPARTMENT, THE COFFEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT AND FESTIVAL PROMOTERS TO KEEP TRAFFIC MOVING ON I-24 WHILE ALSO GETTING BONNAROO ATTENDEES TO THEIR DESTINATION. THE GATES OFFICIALLY OPEN WEDNESDAY EVENING AND STATE TROOPERS WILL BE ON THE JOB 24 HOURS A DAY BEGINNING WEDNESDAY PATROLLING ON THE GROUND AND BY AIR. ATTENDEES ARE REMINDED OF THE FOLLOWING TIPS, USE SUNSCREEN, DRINK WATER AND BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS. DURING BONNAROO IN 2018, TROOPERS LOGGED NEARLY 6,237 MAN HOURS, WORKED ONE TRAFFIC CRASH AND WROTE 1111 CITATIONS.
