A GROUP OF PROTESTERS WHO SPENT THE NIGHT OUTSIDE OF GOVERNOR BILL LEE'S OFFICE IN AN ATTEMPT TO DRAW ATTENTION TO THE ALLEGATIONS SURROUNDING STATE REPRESENTATIVE DAVID BYRD WERE ARRESTED ON WEDNESDAY AFTER A THIRTY HOUR SIT IN. THE GROUP CALLING THEMSELVES ENOUGH IS ENOUGH IS CALLING FOR BYRD'S RESIGNATION AND WANTING THE GOVERNOR TO MAKE A PUBLIC STATEMENT CONDEMNING BYRD, WHO HAS BEEN ACCUSED OF SEXUAL MISCONDUCT BY MULTIPLE WOMEN WHO REPORTEDLY PLAYED BASKETBALL FOR WAYNE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL WHILE BYRD WAS COACHING DURING THE 1980S. BYRD REPRESENTS THE 71ST DISTRICT WHICH INCLUDES HARDIN, WAYNE AND A PORTION OF LAWRENCE COUNTY IN THE TENNESSEE STATE HOUSE. EACH PROTESTER WAS CHARGED WITH MISDEMEANOR CRIMINAL TRESPASSING AND LATER RELEASED.
